Anthony Friesen was dominant on the mound as the first-place Brandon Cloverleafs hammered the Reston Rockets 12-0 in a Manitoba Senior Baseball League game on Wednesday night at Andrews Field.

Friesen struck out 12 batters in eight innings as the Cloverleafs ran their record to 8-1 with their sixth consecutive victory. The defending champion Rockets (2-4-1) are winless in their last four games.

Jason Shaul and Mason Schiff led the Cloverleafs at the dish, both going 4-for-5, while teammate Matt Gunning was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.

The Rockets will try to get back on track on Friday when they visit the second-place Brandon Marlins at Andrews Field at 7 p.m. The Oak River Dodgers host the Neepawa Tigers in Friday’s other game.
