Brandon Sun - PRINT EDITION

Lisoway leads way in victory

Brandon Wheat King Quinton Lisoway scored two goals and set up another as the Manitoba Prospects opened the Source for Sports AAA Hockey Challenge at Kinsmen Arena by dominating the Manitoba Cobras 7-4 Friday.

Wheat Kings winger Jesse Gabrielle added a goal and an assist for the Prospects, while Brandonite Justin Holder made 50 saves in net for the win.

Ryley Lindgren of the Wheat Kings replied with a pair of markers for the Cobras.

In Friday’s other games, it was: Cobras 8, Mallard Stars 2; and Eastwest Connection 11, Manitoba Selects 3. The game between Eastwest and Mallard was in progress at press time.

Cobras 8 Stars 2

Russell’s Rylee Zimmer scored a pair of goals and set up another for the Cobras in their opener. Brandonite Brett Kitt also found the back of the net twice, while Wawanesa’s Jordan Thomson added a goal and two helpers and Brandonite Tyler Coulter had three assists. Johnny Beaulieu and Taran Lacquette replied for the Stars.

Connection 11 Selects 3

Jordy Stallard scored five goals and set up three others, while fellow Brandonite Duncan Campbell had two goals and three helpers for Eastwest. Wheat King prospect Colt Conrad had a goal and five assists for the winners. Jordan McCausland, Lantz Hiebert and Josh Tripp scored for the Selects.
