Brandon’s Laura Popplestone and Stephanie Penner of Douglas helped the Lakeland College Rustlers earn a silver medal at the Alberta College Athletic Conference women’s volleyball championship.
Lakeland fell 3-2 (13-25, 27-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-11) to the NAIT Ooks in Sunday’s final.
Popplestone, a libero and former Brandon University Bobcats red-shirt, had 20 digs for Lakeland. Penner had 11 kills and six blocks in a 3-2 win over the Grand Prairie Wolves in the opener for the Rustlers, who host nationals March 7-9 in Lloydminster, Alta.
