Lowry leads way for first-place Farmers

Matt Lowry blasted a three-run home run and amassed five RBIs as the Neepawa Farmers beat the host Oak River Dodgers 14-3 Friday night in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League.

Cam Tibbett went 3-for-5 with a solo home run for Neepawa (2-0). Ryan Shaw drove in all three runs for the Dodgers (0-1).

Tyler Reiner gave up three runs and six hits while striking out one in five innings of work to pick up the win. Shaw took the loss after giving up eight runs on 12 hits in six innings. He struck out three batters.

Meanwhile, Friday’s other game between the Brandon Houstons Marlins and the Brandon Cloverleafs was postponed due to weather. This is the second straight Cloverleafs game that has been postponed this season. Their original season opener on Tuesday against the defending MSBL champion Reston Rockets was also postponed. No make-up dates for either game have been set.
