Brandon’s Mitch Lyall swung a hot bat for Manitoba at the Baseball Canada Cup in Saskatoon as the squad split its games on Thursday.
Lyall went 2-for-4 with an RBI as Manitoba beat Nova Scotia 10-0 in the 17-and-under event. He went 3-for-3 with a run scored and one driven in later in the day as Manitoba fell 5-3 to Prince Edward Island.
Marshal Burgess drew two walks against P.E.I. and went 1-for-4 and scored a run against Nova Scotia.
Late Thursday, Burgess went 2-for-3 and scored a run, while Lyall took the loss in a 12-2 defeat to Saskatchewan.
