After splitting their first four games, the Westman Magic rattled off two consecutive wins to secure a bronze medal at the under-12 softball championship in Ile-des-Chenes over the weekend.
In the final, Anja Nell belted out a three-run home run to give the Magic some breathing room en route to an 11-7 win over the Thunder.
The bronze medal was almost not a reality, however, as earlier in the day, the Magic needed an extra inning to dispose of Team Central 4-3. Nell and Brooklyn Roach combined for 12 strikeouts in the win.
On Saturday, the Magic beat the Angels 11-4 on the strength of some good pitching from Kylie Matiowski, but fell to the Terminators 6-3.
