Aaron Pugh of Boissevain went four innings on the mound, shutting out Nova Scotia and allowing just two hits while striking out four, before giving way to Binscarth’s Brody Burnett, who closed out the game. Mitch Lyall of Brandon went 0-for-2 against Nova Scotia.
Manitoba closed out the round robin on Saturday with a 14-4 win over Newfoundland to finish in a tie for second in Pool B at 3-2, but was relegated to the seventh-place game. Burgess went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two batted in, while Lyall singled and drove in two runs against Newfoundland.
