Brandon Sun - PRINT EDITION

Manitoba Hall class named

Nine individuals, including a former Brandon Wheat King, and one team will be inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame at its regional ceremony in Selkirk on May 24.

Chuck Lefley, who had six goals and six assists in seven games with the Wheat Kings in the 1969-70 season, is entering the Hall in the athletes’ category along with Lorne “Boom Boom” Benson, Glen Hnatiuk, Cathy Holtmann and Harry “Pee Wee” Oliver.

Meanwhile, Merv Farmer, Gordon Fines, Jim Schreyer and Jim Skinner will go in the builders’ category and the 1973-74 Selkirk Steelers will be inducted in the team category.
