Allison Cruise booted a pair of goals to lead the Vincent Massey Vikings to a 3-0 victory over the visiting Neelin Spartans in Brandon High School Soccer League girls action on Tuesday.
Amy Berg also scored for Vincent Massey, while goalkeepers Jessi Coulter and Nimrit Bath shared the clean sheet.
Sydney Cobbe tossed four shutout innings to earn the win as the Vincent Massey Vikings blanked the visiting Crocus Plainsmen 17-0 Tuesday in Brandon High School Girls Fastball League action.
Brittany Stonehouse led the way at the plate, going 4-for-4 and driving in three runs to lead the Vikings.
Massey (3-1) clinched first place and will host Neelin (3-1) in the one-game city final on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
Delaney Lang singled and walked for Crocus Plains, while Kaitlin Hamm took the loss.
Meanwhile, in Zone 9 high school girls fastball league action last night, the Virden Golden Bears defeated the host Killarney Raiders 11-7.
Virden’s Mackenzie Roach struck out five over seven innings to earn the win on the mound and helped her own cause by going 3-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored. Adelle Gerbin finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Morgan Manser was 3-for-4 for Virden. Taylor Arnott took the loss for Killarney.
The first-place Souris Sabres edged the visiting Crocus Plainsmen 8-5 in a tight Westman High School Rugby League boys clash on Tuesday.
Michael Fortin scored the try for the Sabres, while Brendan Roberts booted a penalty kick. Dryden White-Eagle scored the lone try for Crocus Plains.
