Vincent Massey’s Katherine Lee and Olivia Pieroni advanced to the girls doubles playoffs Friday at the provincial high school badminton championship in Carman.
Lee and Pieroni finished in a tie for first place in Pool D with Virden’s Sonya Laroque and Krista Grieve with a 6-1 record to advance to today’s playoff round.
In boys doubles competition, Massey’s Eric Badiou and Akash Patel finished in a three-way tie for third place in Pool A with a 4-3 record. The Viking duo, however, didn’t qualify for the playoffs.
Massey’s mixed doubles team of Roslyn DeBacker and Duncan Campbell finished in a tie for sixth in their pool with a 2-5 record and missed the playoffs.
In singles action, Massey’s Samantha Lee finished in a tie for fourth in her girls group with a 3-4 record. Jeremy Lucio finished third in his boys singles pool with a 5-2 record. Both players missed the playoffs.
