Brandon’s Alexander McCormack placed 24th overall in the full marathon while Ryan Leech was 12th in the half marathon to highlight Westman results from the Queen City Marathon in Regina on Sunday.
McCormack completed the 42.2 kilometre course in a time of three hours 15 minutes 11 seconds, finishing second among runners aged 20-24. Meanwhile, Leech completed the 21.1 kilometre half-marathon race in a time of 1:27:32, placing first among runners aged 19-and-under.
Brandon’s Jason Powers (35th, 3:20:54) and Bert Blackbird (38th, 3:23:35) and Roblin’s Chad Cowan (57th, 3:31:11) also placed in the top 100 in the marathon, while Roblin’s Darren Yakimishyn (5th, 1:20:54) and Hamiota’s Chris Breneman (32nd, 1:34:04) also cracked the top 100 in the half marathon.
Among other top marathoners from Westman were Souris’ Jasper Stone (138th, 3:52:15), Dauphin’s Sue Lucas (173rd overall, eighth among women, 3:57:37), Brandon’s Jason Alston (181st, 4:00:36), Dauphin’s Manon Fiola-Johnson (191st, 4:02:34), Russell’s Ray Elliott (252nd, 4:20:06), Brandon’s Courtney Bodnar (289th, 4:26:46), Brandon’s Alan Li (352nd, 4:44:22), Souris’ Jillian Harvey (355th, 4:45:33), Roblin’s Lee Gaber (366th, 4:40:28), Shilo’s Catherine Bell (391st, 4:59:06) and Brandon’s Bryanne McLaughlin (400th, 5:03:53).
