Brandon’s Dennis McNish and Killarney native Wayne Bartley have been named assistant coaches of Manitoba’s under-16 Program of Excellence hockey team.
McNish, the head coach of Brandon’s bantam AAA boys hockey team, will serve under head coach Doug Sinclair of Winnipeg as the video coach at the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup in Calgary from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
Bartley, an assistant coach with the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Winnipeg Wild, will serve as an assistant coach.
No locals were named to the U-18 team coaching staff, which is headed by Winnipeg’s Neil Chow.
