Westman bowlers won a few more medals at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Vancouver Friday.
Ashley Batt posted a score of 670 points to win a bronze medal in the 10-pin F1 division singles competition. Gail Hartlen rolled a 613 and placed ninth in the F05 final. Melvin Gensiorek placed seventh in the M08 division with 619 points.
Meanwhile, Gensiorek teamed up with Jason Brisebois to win bronze in the 10-pin bowling M5 division doubles competition. Hartlen and Natalie Simmons finished fourth in the F3 doubles event, while Batt and Steve Klassen were sixth in M2 doubles.
Westman also has two golfers and four 5-pin bowlers in the Games, as well as the entire roster for Manitoba’s softball and soccer teams.The Games wrap up today.
