Leading the Nellie McClung Stingers to the Boissevain Broncos girls’ fastball tournament title over the weekend has earned Manitou’s Carlee Milljour the nod as the Tri-Star rural Manitoba high school athlete of the week.

The 5-foot-9 shortstop helped Nellie McClung double up Portage 4-2 in Saturday’s championship final in Boissevain and also led the Stingers to the final of the Garden Valley tournament earlier this season. Last week, Milljour went 9-for-15 with 15 runs scored to help the Stingers finish in first place in the Zone 6 league heading into the playoffs. The Grade 12 student, who sports a 91 per cent academic average, also competes in volleyball, badminton and track and field.
