It’s been a good week for captain Ty Moffat of the Deloraine/Hartney Colts.

After being named co-winner of the most valuable player award in the Westman High School Hockey League, Moffat has been named Tri-Star rural high school athlete of the week, having led the Colts to a first-place finish in the league. Moffat racked up 10 goals and 34 points in 18 games this season for the Colts, who topped the league with a 16-2-0 record.

"We would not be the team that we are without Ty’s intensity and leadership," Colts coach Matt Palmer stated.

Moffat, a league all-star, also plays high school volleyball and sports an academic average of 70 per cent.
