Russell’s Jon Montgomery had his best showing of the World Cup men’s skeleton season on Saturday.
The 33-year-old reigning Olympic champion raced to a sixth-place finish in the World Cup tour stop at the Königssee track in Germany. Montgomery was the top Canadian in the 26-man field, racing to a two-run combined time of 1:43.22, finishing 1.15 seconds behind winner Martins Dukurs of Latvia. Montgomery is ranked 13th in the world this season.
