Russell’s Jon Montgomery was the top Canadian at a World Cup skeleton race in Altenberg, Germany, on Saturday, finishing in ninth place.
Montgomery had the seventh-best time in the first run, but was 12th in the second, finishing with a total time of two minutes, 1.14 seconds. He was 2.70 seconds behind leader Martins Dukurs of Latvia.
Montgomery now sits 13th in the World Cup standings, going into this weekend’s race at Germany’s Königssee track.
