Morrison leads Dauphin

Hudson Morrison of Souris scored in his Dauphin debut to help the Kings edge the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 3-2 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League on Friday night.

In other action, it was: Selkirk Steelers 8, Neepawa Natives 1; Swan Valley Stampeders 5, OCN Blizzard 2; and Winnipeg Blues 4, Portage Terriers 2.

In Dauphin, Brandonite Mitch VanTeeling and Jared Morris, with the third-period winner, also scored for the Kings (24-14-1), who leapfrogged the idle Virden Oil Capitals for first place in the Sher-Wood Division. Devon Schade and Aaron Dupasquier replied with the goals for the Wolverines (11-24-2).

Steelers 8 Natives 1

In Selkirk, Kolby Woods had two goals and an assist and Parker Thomas set up three goals for the Steelers (31-6-2). Dallas Starodub, Rhett Lough, Tyler Kauk, Adam Wowryk, Erik Pushka and Soren Fredriksen also scored for the hosts. Justin Coachman scored the lone goal for Neepawa (10-28-4).

Stampeders 5 Blizzard 2

In Swan River, Max Flanagan fired two goals while Jagger Thomas, Bo Sigurdson and B.J. Avery added singles for Swan Valley (18-23-1). Grant Valiquette and Chris Kravchuk replied for OCN (15-23-3).

Blues 4 Terriers 2

In Winnipeg, Joel Schreyer scored twice and Jordan McCallum and Jackson Keane had once each for the Blues (21-14-5). Dexter Kuczek and Matt Alexander replied for Portage (26-11-5).
