The Brandon University Bobcats volleyball teams stayed put in this week’s CIS rankings.
The BU women’s team (15-5 in the Canada West conference) remained ranked second in the country after splitting with the Trinity Western Spartans (15-5), who moved up from fourth to third this week.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats men’s volleyball team (9-11) remains ranked ninth, despite splitting a pair of matches with Trinity Western (18-2), which slipped from No.1 in the country to No.2.
Both Bobcat volleyball teams hit the road this weekend to face the Calgary Dinos, with the women having clinched a playoff spot and the men still battling for a post-season berth.
The BU basketball teams, both 5-13 and out of the playoff mix, will host the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday and Saturday at the Healthy Living Centre. As part of the weekend, the Bobcats women’s team will host the “Shoot for the Cure” with all 50/50 revenue donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and first-year BU players Keegan Robinson and Kinsley Ransom shooting free throws at halftime to raise money for the foundation.
