Shelby Nohr totalled 15 points as the Vincent Massey Vikings doubled the visiting Crocus Plainsmen 72-36 Wednesday in Game 1 of the Brandon High School Basketball League junior varsity girls’ final.
Taren Hildebrand added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings, while Kellee Bloomfield and Morgan Donald netted 10 points apiece for the Plainsmen.
Game 2 of the best-of-three series will be played Monday at 6 p.m., at Crocus.
The Vikings also took the opener of the JV boys’ final, topping the Plainsmen 78-37 at Massey. Cassidy Obijiaku paced the Vikings with 16 points, while teammate Thomas Moroz chipped in 12. Eric Schepp and Kyle Johnston both had six points for the Plainsmen, who host Game 2 on Monday at 7:45 p.m.
Tonight, Crocus Plains will host Neelin in Game 1 of the best-of-three varsity girls’ final at 6 o’clock, followed by Vincent Massey hosting Neelin in the varsity boys’ opener at 7:45 p.m.
