A goal and an assist from Tim Kavanaugh led the OCN Blizzard to 5-3 victory over Waywayseecappo on Thursday, snapping the Wolverines’ winning streak at six games.
Darien Cardinal, Kirk Chief, T.J. Constant and Kolton Baptiste also scored for the Blizzard (38-16-5). Brandonite Josh Elmes assisted on both OCN goals in the third period — Cardinal’s winner and Baptiste’s empty-netter.
David Haaf, Brett Lafond and Russell Turner each had a goal and an assist for the Wolverines (25-26-5).
In Thursday’s other MJHL game, the Portage Terriers beat the Selkirk Steelers 4-1.

At Portage la Prairie, Cole Hamblin scored twice as the Terriers handed the Steelers their 15th straight loss.
Brent Wold had a goal an assist for the Terriers (32-25-1). Kajon McKay had the other Portage goal, while former Brandon Wheat Kings defenceman Dylan Kuczek had two assists. Adam Iwan made 31 saves for the win. Brendan Mitchell replied for the Steelers (24-29-5).
