Brandonite Isabela Onyshko capped her performances at the Commonwealth Games with a seventh-place finish in the women’s artistic gymnastics beam final on Friday.
The 16-year-old Brandon Eagles Gymnastics Club member scored 12.666 points on her routine in Glasgow, Scotland. It’s the second seventh-place finish for Onyshko, who also had that placement in the all-around competition. She was also part of the Canadian contingent that finished fourth in the team event.
Fellow Canadian Ellie Black scored 14.900 on her beam routine to win gold.
Meanwhile, Brandonite DeLohnni Nicol-Samuel finished his 1,500-metre heat in a time of three minutes 58.40 seconds, which was not good enough to qualify him for today’s final.
The Commonwealth Games wrap up this weekend, with the closing ceremonies set for Sunday.
