Souris Sabres standout Sarah Palson has been honoured for her superb season by being named the Tri-Star rural high school athlete of the week.

The 5-foot-10 senior post player is averaging 20.4 points, 14.2 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 4.4 blocks per game for the Sabres. Palson was named most valuable player while leading the Souris varsity girls’ basketball team to tournament titles at the Treherne Invitational and Sabres Shootout and earning the nod as a tournament all-star while helping the Sabres win the Steinbach Christian Tournament.

"Sarah is a hardworking young woman with a love for the game," stated Sabres coach Trever Penner. "She has put in countless hours to prepare herself for her senior season and it has paid off."
