Pembina Valley tops Yellowhead

Tatum Amy scored a pair of goals for the Yellowhead Chiefs on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 3-2 to the Pembina Valley Hawks in their Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League game in Shoal Lake.

The Chiefs fell to 8-8-1 on the season while the league-leading Hawks improved to 13-0-5.

Sunday’s game between the Westman Wildcats and Eastman Selects was postponed. A rescheduled date has not been set.

On Saturday, it was Wildcats 3, Central Plains Capitals 3; and Yellowhead Chiefs 5, Selects 2.

Wildcats 3 Capitals 3

At Portage la Prairie, Jaycee Magwood had two goals and a helper for Westman (6-6-4), while Megan Robertson added a goal and an assist. MacGregor’s Sheridan Oswald replied with a pair of markers for the Capitals (7-4-4).

Chiefs 5 Selects 2

At Shoal Lake, Amy recorded a hat trick for Yellowhead, while Tashel Scantlebury and Jessi Rampton added singles. Jessi-Lynn Sumaling netted both goals for Eastman (0-13-4).
