Pinkerton nets pair for Wolverines

Pilot Mound native Brett Pinkerton potted a pair of goals to help the Waywayseecappo Wolverines cruise to a 7-2 victory over the Swan Valley Stampeders in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action on Tuesday night.

In Tuesday’s other game, it was: Winkler Flyers 4, Selkirk Steelers 3.

In Waywayseecappo, Robert Briem, Drake Bodie, J.J. Cruikshank, Brenden Luchinski and Russell Turner also scored for the Wolverines (14-18-4), who led 6-0 heading into the third period.

Richard Olson and Max Flanagan scored for the Stampeders (23-12-4), while Virden native Landon Peel added an assist.

Flyers 4 Steelers 3

In Winkler, Cartwright native Jory Mullin had two goals and an assist to lead the Flyers (10-21-8).

Mitch Loose and Justin Faux — with the game-winner at 17:46 of the third period — also scored for Winkler, while Brandonite Tanner Jago notched an assist. Parker Thomas replied with two goals, while Taylor Young scored once for Selkirk (22-16-2).
