Pistons edge Kings in shootout

Brandonite Brayden Cuthbert scored a power-play goal to force extra time in Wednesday’s Manitoba Junior Hockey League game, but he was stymied in the shootout as his Dauphin Kings fell 3-2 to the host Pistons.

Cuthbert also had an assist, while Jared Morris netted the other goal for the Sher-Wood Division-leading Kings (33-16-2), and also scored their only marker in the shootout. Justin Baudry and Daniel Taillefer scored in the shootout for the Pistons (36-14-2), who got regulation-time markers from Tyler Penner and Suede Omeasoo.

Michael Stiliadis made 39 saves for Dauphin, while Zach Rakochy also stopped 39 shots for Steinbach, which is tied for second place in the Addison Division.
