Jackson Wallis opened the Westman High School Hockey League season with a bang, scoring twice to lead the Crocus Plainsmen to a 4-1 victory over the Huskies on Tuesday night at the Optimist Arena.
Jake Cullen added a goal and an assist, while Luke Galatiuk also scored for the Plainsmen.
Cole Waddell replied with the lone goal for the Huskies.
It was the opening night of the season for the league, which returns all 15 teams, including the league champion and provincial AA champion Neepawa Tigers.
Brandon’s other team, the Vincent Massey Vikings, will open their season on Thursday night when they host the Melita/Waskada Devils at Kinsmen Arena. The puck drops at 8 p.m.
