Plainsmen, Vikings split

Desirae Peiffer poured in 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Crocus Plainsmen to a 52-39 victory over the visiting Vincent Massey Vikings in varsity girls’ action in the Westman High School Basketball League on Tuesday night at the Crocus Plains gymnasium.

Emilie Smale added 10 points and seven boards for the Plainsmen, who led 23-15 at halftime.

Brittany Boschman replied with 17 points for the Vikings, while Zaina Bird chipped in with eight points.

Meanwhile, in varsity boys action, the Vikings defeated the host Plainsmen 82-55 last night.

Johnson Duku led Vincent Massey with 18 points, while Cassidy Obijiaku added 16 and Igor Reva notched 12 points.

Mike Olive replied with 17 points, while Kyle Johnston notched 13 for the Plainsmen, who trailed 31-30 at halftime.
