Thirteen points in 11 games helped captain Ryan Pulock earn the Brandon Wheat Kings’ player of the month award for January.
The 2013 first-round pick (15th overall) of the New York Islanders scored three goals and added 10 assists with a plus/minus rating of +3 to finish with the second-most points on the team for the month. The 19-year-old Grandview native now sits eighth in scoring among WHL defencemen with 16 goals and 44 points in 46 games. In 241 career WHL games, the 6-foot-1, 218-pound Pulock has fired 57 goals and racked up 191 points.
Pulock has helped the Wheat Kings post a 27-19-5-1 record for a share of first place in the East Division with the Swift Current Broncos (26-19-2-6).
Brandon faces the Medicine Hat Tigers (29-19-3-0) on Wednesday at Westman Place at 7 p.m., before battling the Broncos in a home-and-home series Friday in Brandon and Sunday in Swift Current, Sask.
