Tanner Friesen scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the seventh as the Killarney Raiders edged the Birtle Falcons 6-5 in the Prairie West High School Baseball League on Sunday.
Reid Opperman came on in relief of Friesen and collected the win in Deloraine despite giving up two runs in three innings while striking out four. Brett Opperman tripled, scored twice and drove in a run for the Raiders (2-4).
Dylan Bonchuk took the loss for the Falcons (0-5-1), while Noah Lemoine reached base four times, scored once and had two RBIs.
Meanwhile, at Deloraine, Mitch Dillabough singled twice and picked up the win for the Devils (3-3) as they beat the Falcons 10-4. Dillabough struck out 10 and gave up just two walks in
4 1/3 innings on the mound. Keenan Lewis, who was 3-for-3 at the dish, took the loss for Birtle after walking 11 in four innings of work.
In Hamiota, Mitchell Skotlas picked up the win in relief of Blake Mervyn for the Huskies (3-1) as they beat the Crocus Plainsmen 10-4. Kyle Johnston took the loss for the Plainsmen (1-5).
