The under-14 Westman Rangers soccer team had a rough weekend, but still are hopeful they can make the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association’s league final.
The Rangers finished their seven-team playoff group with a 3-2-1 record after falling 3-2 to Portage Trail and 2-0 to Boni Vital on Saturday. Tom Prazak and Josh Petersen scored against Portage Trail.
Westman bounced back with a 5-0 win over FC Northwest on Sunday. Petersen scored twice with Nolan Melanson, Michael Olive and Carlos Torres adding singles. Lane Tufts earned the clean sheet.
Westman is now waiting to see if its record is good enough to finish first or second in the group and advance to the league championship.
