Brett Braybrook drove in four runs to lead the Hamiota Red Sox to a 13-5 win over the Elkhorn Expos on Sunday in the South West Baseball League.
Braybrook had two hits and also scored a run for the Red Sox.
In Sunday’s other SWBL games, it was: Wawanesa Brewers 3, Deloraine Royals 1; Hartney Hoppers 15, Melita Beavers 0; and Expos 9, Souris Cardinals 7.
In Elkhorn, Darren Waddell went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, while Jeff Knight hit a homer in a 2-for-5 performance, scoring three runs and driving in three more.
Logan McGonigal struck out seven and allowed only one run in four innings for the win.
Losing pitcher Tyler Wood went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored one of the Elkhorn runs. Brett Orr homered and drove in two runs for the Expos.
Brewers 3 Royals 1
In Wawanesa, Derek McGregor pitched four strong innings and added to the offence by going 2-for-2 with a run for the Brewers. McGregor allowed only one run on four hits, with two strikeouts. Reliever Trevor Kozak worked three scoreless innings for the win.
Brad Rathwell drove in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning, while Mark McGregor was 1-for-3 with a double for Wawanesa.
Jake Weidenhamer and Andrew Vercaigne both went 2-for-4 for the Royals. Marc Edwards was the losing pitcher.
Hoppers 15 Beavers 0
In Melita, Finn Druwe struck out five and walked four in a six-hit shutout. Offensively, he provided enough runs to secure himself the win, going 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs.
Losing pitcher Paul Vanbeselaere pitched six innings and went 2-for-3 at the dish for the Beavers.
Expos 9 Cardinals 7
In Souris, Mike Stevenson and Devrin Stonehouse drove in three runs apiece as the Expos bounced back from their afternoon loss. Stevenson homered and also scored twice for Elkhorn, while Stonehouse hit a double.
Brett Arbuckle doubled, singled and drove in four runs for the Cardinals, also scoring a run himself. Andrew Janz went 3-for-3 and scored three times for Souris.
Kyle McLeod allowed one run in two innings of relief for the win, while Souris reliever Zane Lehman took the loss.
