Reiner leads way for Red Sox

Tyler Reiner was 3-for-4, drove in a run and scored another for the Hamiota Red Sox as they set a new team record with their 13th South West Baseball League victory of the season.

Logan McGonigal went the distance on the mound, allowing four hits and striking out eight as the Red Sox (13-1-0) beat the visiting Boissevain Centennials 5-3 on Sunday. Junior Brake took the loss for Boissevain (7-5-1), while Ryan Albrecht doubled and came around to score twice.

Meanwhile, the Elkhorn Expos won both of their road games on Sunday.

Brad Bowles threw a complete game and singled twice as the Expos (9-5-0) edged the Wawanesa Brewers 8-6. Derek McGregor took the loss for Wawanesa (7-8-0) after giving up six runs on five hits.

Earlier in the day, the Expos earned a 3-1 win over the Reston Jays (3-8-1). Details weren’t available.
