The Reston Rockets narrowly edged the Brandon Senior AA Allstars 5-4 in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at Andrews Field.
Ben Van Walleghem took the loss on the mound for the Allstars, giving up one run.
Andrew Janz and Derek McGregor each hit two-run doubles for the Allstars, while Adam Hartman went 1-for-2 with two walks.
The game was designed to keep both team’s sharp ahead of this weekend when the Rockets will travel to Prince George, B.C., to play in the senior national championship, while the Allstars will head to Winnipeg for the Western Canada Finals.
