Three different Deloraine Royals hit three-run home runs to lift the host squad to a 13-1 win over the Hartney Hoppers in Sunday’s Santa Clara Baseball League contest and a 2-1 series victory.
Patrick Vandoorne, Brett Stewart and Laughlin McKinnon launched the three-run blasts and McKinnon added a solo home run for good measure.
Jeff Edwards pitched all seven innings for the Royals, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out eight.
Finn Druwe took the loss for Hartney after allowing six runs on six hits in three innings. Dane Cowan scored the Hoppers’ lone run.
The Royals will now play the Hamiota Red Sox in a best-of-five league semifinal.
The other semifinal will feature the Wawanesa Brewers and Boissevain Centennials.
