Scholarships awarded

The Manitoba Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Council has awarded MASRC-2002 NAIG Legacy athletic and coaching scholarships to four different people from the Westman area.

Boissevain’s Bailee Goodon, Brandon’s Braedan Boschman and Minnedosa’s Shaquille Merasty were three of the 15 aboriginal athletes from Manitoba to receive a $500 scholarships to be used at their post-secondary institutions in the fall. Goodon and Merasty are both hockey players while Boschman plays volleyball.

Dauphin’s Matt Zeiler received one of two $500 coaching scholarships that were handed out. He coaches football and rugby.
