Schreyer goals give Natives the Blues

Joel Schreyer scored one goal in every period to net his first hat trick of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League season on Wednesday night as the Winnipeg Blues beat the host Neepawa Natives 8-2.

Kamerin Nault added a pair of goals for the Blues (18-11-5), with Clay Tait and Warren Callis also scoring.

Brandonite Clayton Heinrichs replied with a goal and an assist for the Natives

(9-23-4), who have dropped their last five games and 13 of their last 14. Steven Phillips scored Neepawa’s other goal, while Killarney’s Colton Magwood picked up an assist.

Wolverine suspended

Waywayseecappo forward Drake Bodie, who is tied for the Wolverines’ team scoring lead, and Suede Omeasoo of the OCN Blizzard have both been suspended one game for taking part in the second tilt of a multiple-fight situation on Tuesday in Waywayseecappo. They’ll serve their time Friday when the Wolverines visit Dauphin and the Blizzard host Steinbach.
