Second-place Wildcats wrap up regular season with win over Ice

Karissa Kirkup scored twice as the Westman Wildcats beat the Winnipeg Ice 5-1 in Hartney on Saturday to finish the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League regular season with a 10-game winning streak.

Samantha Dyck, Kjierstan Wallace and Ashleigh Brykaliuk also scored for the Wildcats, who finished in second place with a 22-5-1 record. Amber Tillbury made 16 saves for the win.

On Sunday, Tashel Scantlebury found the net twice as the Yellowhead Chiefs beat the Winnipeg Ice 5-3 in Shoal Lake.

Jalin Adams, Hannah Street and Mallory Workman had the other Chief markers.

Yellowhead (7-15-5) finished the regular season in sixth place.
