The under-17 Westman Shock split its first two Winnipeg Youth Soccer League playoff games on the weekend.
On Sunday, Brandon’s Alex Alvarado and MacGregor’s Richard Watson both scored for the Shock, but they let in a late goal to the host Portage Trail team to fall 3-2.
Westman began its playoff run with a 4-3 win over Winnipeg-based FC North West at Optimist Park.
Kaeden Heide of Killarney netted a pair of goals, while Alvarado and Glenboro’s Alfie Hunt added singles as the Shock overcame a 2-1 halftime deficit.
The Shock will continue their two-weekend round robin playoff on Saturday when they visit FC North West in Winnipeg.
