Shutouts earn Stiliadis player of the week award

Perfection has earned Dauphin Kings goaltender Michael Stiliadis the nod as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s player of the week.

The 20-year-old native of Woodbridge, Ont., completed a remarkable shutout sweep of the OCN Blizzard in the opening round of the MJHL playoffs. Stiliadis stopped every shot he faced in four straight victories — 24 saves in 5-0 victory on March 9 in Dauphin, 19 stops in another 5-0 win on March 11 in The Pas, turning aside 21 shots in a 3-0 triumph on March 13 in Dauphin and another 21 saves in a 3-0 shutout on Saturday night in The Pas.

Stiliadis and the Kings now move on to the Sher-Wood Division final this weekend.
