Sinatynski leads way for Kings

Jesse Sinatynski scored a goal and assisted on two others to lead the Dauphin Kings to a 4-2 win over the Virden Oil Capitals Tuesday in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

In Tuesday’s other MJHL game, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines defeated the Swan Valley Stampeders 7-5.

At Dauphin, Sinatynski scored his 10th goal of the season and grabbed a share of the MJHL scoring lead with 22 points. Jeff Archibald, Guillaume Naud and Shamus Graham each had a goal and an assist as the Kings (10-5-0) won their third straight game.

Jordan Greig of Souris and Brendyn Illchuk replied for the Oil Capitals (7-6-3).

Virden goalie Kyler Beckett made 38 saves, while Jeremy Pominville stopped 19 shots for Dauphin.

Wolverines 7 Stampeders 5

At Waywayseecappo, Russell Turner scored twice for the Wolverines, including the game-winner on a power play with 2:18 left in the third period, and added an assist.

Brenden Luchinski also scored twice for the Wolverines (7-8-2), while Drake Bodie had a goal and three assists. Curtis Veitch and Brett Lafond rounded out the Wayway scoring.

Virden native Landon Peel had his first goal of the season and picked up an assist for the Stampeders (8-5-1). Colton Magwood of Killarney, Justin Valentino, Riley Hiebert and Sam Briscoe had the other Swan Valley goals.

Suspensions

Neepawa Natives forward Bryn MacNab and OCN Blizzard head coach Jim Mollard were both suspended for weekend incidents.

MacNab received two games after picking up a checking-to-the-head major Sunday in a game against the Oil Capitals.

Mollard was suspended a total of five games — two for receiving a gross misconduct, and three for a match penalty — stemming from incidents in Friday’s game against the Stampeders.
