A trio of Westmanites helped South Central win a bronze medal at Baseball Canada’s eight-team Peewee AAA western Canadian baseball championship on the weekend in Spruce Grove, Alta.
Strathclair’s Noah Geekie pitched a complete-game shutout for the team as it won its bronze-medal game 3-0 over the host Spruce Grove squad on Sunday.
Brandon’s Max Paddock was 2-for-3 in the contest and sported a .438 batting average during the event. He also received the catcher of the tournament award.
Boissevain’s Jared McCorrister drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the bronze-medal game and earned the win on the mound in South Central’s tournament opener against the team from St. Albert, Alta.
