Logan McGonigal got the Hamiota Red Sox back on even ground in the South West Baseball League final.
McGonigal twirled a two-hit gem as the Red Sox blanked the Hartney Hoppers 6-0 Friday in Hamiota, tying the best-of-five series 1-1. McGonigal struck out nine batters and walked only one.
Brett Braybrook went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base for the Sox, while teammate Cam McGhee went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs.
Scott McBrien took the loss, giving up six runs on six hits and four walks in five innings pitched. Evan Holden went 1-for-3 with a double for the Hoppers, who host Game 3 on Sunday at 4 p.m.
