The Neelin Spartans finished on top of their pool Friday at the Brandon Sun Spartan Invitational varsity boys high school basketball tournament.
The Spartans finished with a 3-0 record after defeating the Beaver Brae Broncos 86-21 Friday morning and the R.D. Parker Trojans 99-32 in the afternoon. Brandon Williams led Neelin with 19 points in the morning and Quinton Hunter had 17 points in the afternoon. Dave Simpkin led Beaver Brae with six points. Femi Oemegi had 13 for the Trojans.

Massey-Bdn 89 Sanford 50
Jeremy Lucio paced the Vikings with 17 points. Kris Trask had 18 for the Sabres.
Dauphin 71 Massey-Bdn 59
Darren Gudmundson scored 27 points to lead Dauphin
(3-0) to first in its pool. Lucio scored 18 points for the Vikings (2-1), who finished second.<B>
Nelson Mac 82 Crocus 74
Elias Desautels scored 21 points to lead the Wolverines. Jake Cullen led all players with 24 points for Crocus, which finished 1-2 in the round robin.

Taylor Maloney had 21 points for the Plainsmen. Nathaniel Wowchuk replied with 10 for the Tigers.
Glenboro 52 R.D. Parker 46
Glen Pronteau’s 30 points weren’t enough for the Trojans. Tyler Sjolander led the Panthers (2-1) with 20 points.
Westgate 61 Minnedosa 58
Mark Morgan scored 17 points for the Chancellors
(1-2). Mitch Jakowski had 16 points for Westgate.

Justin Sarmiento led the Sabres with 20 points.

Brant Bosiak topped the Clippers’ attack with 21 points. Logan Beazley replied with eight for the Raiders (1-2).

Ryley Holod led all players with 27 points, but his effort wasn’t enough to guide the Rams past the Royals. Greg Kuz had 19 for Selkirk.

The Panthers were led by Drake Wallis and Matt Klassen, with 19 points each.
