Spartans sweep Plainsmen

Jordan Hardy racked up seven kills and served up three aces to lead the Neelin Spartans to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) victory over the Crocus Plainsmen in varsity girls action in the Brandon High School Volleyball League on Tuesday night.

Tara van den Ham and Alison Quiring added six kills apiece for the visiting Spartans, who are currently ranked third among all AAAA varsity girls teams in the province.

Stephanie Hunter led the unranked Plainsmen with six kills, while Abbi Robinson led Crocus with 16 digs on the night.

Meanwhile, in varsity boys action at Crocus Plains last night, the Spartans swept the Plainsmen 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-11) behind 14 kills from Jordan Laroque.

Osian Edwards added nine kills for Neelin, while Drew Jones replied with eight kills and teammate Jake Cullen added seven kills for Crocus Plains.
