The Neelin Spartans swept a pair of games from the visiting Crocus Plainsmen in the Westman High School Basketball League on Tuesday night.

In the varsity girls’ game, Paige Thomson, who recently committed to playing CIS basketball for the Victoria Vikes next season, scored 23 points to lead Neelin to a 67-36 victory over Crocus Plains. Brock Hiltner and Andrew Paul then notched 15 points apiece as the Spartans overwhelmed the Plainsmen

89-19 in the varsity boys’ matchup.

In the opener, Kristine Ward scored 15 points, while Courtney Matienzo added 10 for the Spartans. Michelle Kyle replied with eight points, while Morgan Donald scored seven for the Plainsmen.

In the nightcap, Quinton Hunter notched 12 points, while Noah Patton pitched in with 10 for Neelin. Michael Olive, Devon Cooper and Justin Buhr replied with four points apiece for Crocus Plains.
