• 40 YEARS AGO — Randy Thomassen scored with six minutes left to give Brandon’s Little Olympics hockey team a 3-2 win over a Dutch team in the first game of a European hockey tour in Utrecht, Netherlands.

• 30 YEARS AGO — The Melita Bisons got three goals from Keith Oliver and Jay Morrow en route to a 13-5 thrashing of the Pierson Bruins in South West Hockey League action.
