• 40 YEARS AGO — At the Sunnyside Golf & Country Club, Brandon’s Dub Mundell made it two in a row by winning the annual Men’s Open tournament with an 82. Runner-up was Ken Tucnik.

•30 YEARS AGO — Brent Ferguson scored a pair of goals to lead Trifon’s Pizza to a 3-0 triumph over Brandon Club United in a Brandon Senior Soccer League game. Randy Thomassen scored the other goal for the pizzamen while Claude Pellerin registered the shutout.
