• 40 YEARS AGO — Larry Gillis fired three goals and added two assists to lead the Brandon University Bobcats to an 8-3 exhibition hockey victory over the Minnedosa Bombers.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Donald Kennedy stopped 29 shots as Shoal Lake edged Hamiota 4-3 in the North Central Hockey League. Robin Ripley, Stu Nowosad, Gary Findlay and Larry Gerelus scored for the winners.
