Brandon’s Amanda Thornborough will suit up for one of two Canadian women’s teams heading overseas to compete in the Sevens Rugby World Series in Dubai.
Thornborough, a 22-year-old winger who led the St. Francis Xavier X-Women to a CIS national title this season, was selected for Canada’s No.2 team, the Canadian Maple Leafs Sevens squad after taking part in a two-week training camp in Langford, B.C. Twenty-two players made the Canadian teams that will head to the United Arab Emirates for the prestigious Dubai championship that opens on Nov. 30.
